This is Leah

This is Leah. Some of you may already know her. She has interviewed hundreds of future brides over the last few years helping them to sort through the details of one of the many daunting tasks undertaken as they plan their wedding.……… in our case, the CAKE! This picture of Leah makes me smile. Here she is in her wedding dress at the reception consulting with Alison, who was taking the photo, also a past Bonbonerie wedding cake coordinator and recent bride, making sure the cake looked just right. I remember when Leah announced to us that she had gotten engaged. We gathered around to look at the glitter from her ring and the new glitter in her eye. The shoe was now on a different foot.
I often hear Leah’s confident and enthusiastic voice from my office as she inquiries about the bride and groom’s favorite flavors, design preferences and the overall vibe they are looking for. If I was getting married, I would value everything she brings to the table.
Another wonderful part of Leah’s upcoming nuptials was discovering that her mother had also gotten her wedding cake from us and drove it to the reception all the way to Fripp Island, South Carolina so she could have a BonBonerie cake. This is a picture of Leah’s parents Lesley and Joe cutting their cake. Lesley remembered that the flavor was a white romance with raspberry jam accompanied by a salted toffee groom’s cake. I probably made and decorated both of her parent’s cakes. It gave me such a thrill to know BonBonerie was also making Leah’s cake. I was excited to be included in her process as she made her wedding plans. She even shared the details about incorporating some of the lace from her mother’s dress into her own. What a lovely and personal gesture. That is Leah.
Birthdays, showers, weddings, christenings graduations and funerals. It’s been a joy creating confections for each of our customers and it’s a special honor that our staff want to serve BonBonerie at their special occasions as well. Leah, and Lesley and Joe, I earnestly thank you for sharing your life and daughter with us. These kinds of moments are one in a million.
